Committees play an essential role in assisting the Coosawattee River Resort Association with a variety of functions and duties. Each committee is led by member volunteers and has a specific purpose within our community. Committee Members are appointed by the Board of Directors.

Board of Directors

The Coosawattee River Resort Association is a not for profit, Property Owner’s Association chartered in 1995 in the state of Georgia. The Association is governed and overseen by a Board of Directors which is constituted of three members from each of our areas – Beaver Lake, Beaver Forest, Beaver Bend, Eagle Mountain, Eagle Mountain Campground, and the Villas – for a total of eighteen Board Members. The Board of Directors meets on the third Saturday of each month, usually in the Water Tower Conference Center.

Board members are elected to a three year, rotating term (six board members are elected or re-elected each year) with voting held each year at the Annual Meeting which is held the second Saturday in August. After the Annual Meeting and the announcement of the new Board Members, the Board votes for and elects the Executive Committee which consists of the President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary. If the Board so chooses, it may also appoint an assistant Secretary and an assistant Treasurer to serve during the year.

Environmental Conservation Committee (ECC)

The Eco Committee is an ad hoc committee that meets as necessary.

Executive Committee

The Executive Committee (“EC”) and Board of Directors has determined that, in an effort to increase Board Member participation; allow for Property Owner attendance; increase Board Member preparedness for the Board Meeting; and hopefully decrease Board Meeting time, the Executive Committee will hold meetings as needed — 8 days prior to the regular monthly Board Meeting. This will allow the EC to handle time-sensitive issues prior to the regular monthly Board Meeting.

As occurs at the regular monthly Board Meetings, Owners will be asked to leave prior to the discussion of any Executive Session Items.

Called Executive Meetings will begin at 4PM and will be held in the Main / Upper Conference Room in the CRRA POA Building.

This is an Ad Hoc committee that meets at the direction of the Board for a specific purpose concerning Governing Documents.
